The Financial Systems Analyst provides financial management support within a branch, office, organization, or department. The role involves the preparation, analysis, and oversight of annual budgets, financial reports, and executive summaries. The Financial Systems Analyst ensures that financial activities are aligned with organizational goals, policies, and regulations, and provides technical assistance and advice on budgeting and financial management.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Provide expert advice and technical assistance in preparing annual budgets, ensuring they meet organizational objectives and regulations.

Measure organizational performance and assess the impact of various programs and policies on the budget.

Review and examine budget estimates and proposals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.

Employ cost-benefit analysis to evaluate financial requests, assess program trade-offs, and explore alternative funding methods.

Analyze past and current budgets and conduct research on economic and financial developments affecting organizational spending.

Develop guidelines and policies governing the formulation and maintenance of budgets.

Conduct training sessions for personnel on new budget procedures.

Coordinate financial activities across various stakeholders and manage finances across multiple funding types.

Track budgets, monitor costs, and identify variances to ensure effective financial management.

Produce executive summaries and detailed financial reports.

Conduct financial reporting and analysis on financial issues and customer requirements.

Develop and propose courses of action (COAs) and recommendations for resolving financial issues.

Interpret and apply financial management principles, processes, techniques, policies, regulations, and organizational strategic goals.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed financial analysis and forecasting.

Proficiency in financial management software and tools.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

In-depth knowledge of budgeting procedures, financial regulations, and organizational objectives.

Ability to conduct training sessions and effectively communicate new procedures.

Must have experience and be an expert with PCs, MS Office, Adobe, Google Mail, Citrix Sharefile (or other online platforms), and online meeting platforms such as googlemeet and Zoom

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Relevant certifications are a plus.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management, budgeting, or a related field.

Experience with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required

Work Environment: This position is open to candidates nationwide and is remote with site work as required by customer.
Compensation:
The estimated salary range for this position is estimated to be $60,000 – $100,000/year. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. SRE considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Additionally, SRE adheres to all state and federal requirements regarding salary to ensure compliance with applicable labor laws. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of SRE’s total compensation package for employees.
Work Environment:
The primary work location of this position is Washington D.C. Metro area, remote work is allowed but not guaranteed. If you live outside the commutable area, travel expenses are not reimbursed to the primary work location.
