Nurdsoft is seeking a FinOps Analyst professional specializing in optimizing cloud computing costs and financial management within cloud platforms like AWS or Azure. They are critical in helping organizations maximize their cloud investments while minimizing unnecessary expenses.
Tracks
● Migrate to latest instance types
● Core instance rightsizing
● Idle resource cleanup
Responsibilities
● Financial – Assist in driving financial opportunities across multiple teams and
stakeholders. Record and track financial opportunities, discussions, decisions, and
impacts.
● Process and Policy – Create and maintain documentation of systems and procedures
relating to the role job. Leverage FinOps tools to identify areas where enhanced
procedures could optimize cloud costs (e.g., Reservations and Rightsizing).
● Reporting and Analytics – Build dashboards, reports, data automation, and forecasts as
required
Requirements
● 2+ years of experience managing costs across multiple billing accounts within AWS or
Azure using native cost management and other FinOps tools
● Engineering/Operations experience in AWS or Azure for the purpose of setting up financial
monitoring and reporting, investigating anomalies, and identifying savings opportunities
● Strong technical background in cloud, virtualization, containers, databases and
networking
● Exposure to basic accounting practices and public cloud provider billing practices
● Proficiency in SQL, data analytics, and reporting
● Experienced in Excel and Tableau/PowerBI or similar data visualization tools
● Exposure to automation tools and scripting and an understanding of cloud resource
deployment methods and tools
● Strong stakeholder management and communications skills
● An aptitude for problem-solving with a strong bias for action
● Experience using Agile methodologies and software development practices
● Proven experience in reducing the consumption of underutilized resources and leading
cloud cost-efficiency improvements
● Desired certifications: AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Associate Solutions Architect,
Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator, FinOps Practitioner
