Manage the tax affairs and to ensure that the business has up to date knowledge and meets its tax and statutory reporting obligations
Assisting the Group Chief Accountant with ad hoc projects and advisory work as the need arises.
The key responsibilities for this Group UK Tax Manager – 100% remote – Maternity cover are:
Be the go to person in the group for all tax matters, actively seek out and offer tax advice to finance business partners and those in the wider business on new transactions and contracts
To drive continuous improvements in the department’s processes and procedure including identifying opportunities to streamline and automate existing administrative procedures and tasks.
To embrace a ‘learning culture’ within the team, supporting individual development and encouraging cross-cover and cross-learning across the teams.
Preparation of corporate tax returns and tax accounting, in the process of bringing the remaining returns in house.
Quarterly group VAT returns, partial exemption calculations, ad hoc VAT advice and projects, looking at VAT implications of new contracts and transactions.
Ensuring policies, structure and transaction processing is maintained to minimise irrecoverable VAT and identification and evaluation of VAT opportunities
Gift aid returns including retail gift aid
Monitoring of the groups SAO status
Manage the organisations Tax affairs|Assist the finance Chief Accountant with Adhoc tax projects and advice
For this Group UK Tax Manager – 100% remote – Maternity cover, our client require candidates who have/are:
ACCA/ACA/ATT/CTA or relevant practice UK Tax experience. (see below)
Working understanding of Corporate Tax, Charity Tax, Gift Aid and VAT issues within Group Structure where VAT partial exemption schemes are operated.
Experience of liaising pro-actively with external advisors notably HMRC, Tax advisers, external and internal auditors
Experience in managing VAT and producing VAT returns for a similar-sized organisation
