About MEDAIR:
Medair is an international humanitarian organization established in 1988. Medair has been operating in Afghanistan since 1996 with programs mainly in the Health, Water & Sanitation, and Livelihoods sectors with significant reconstruction activities in remote areas. Current projects are Water & Sanitation, Food Security, & Disaster Risk Reduction.
An Integrated Emergency Response: Medair aims to respond to high levels of food insecurity, malnutrition, and morbidity in Tirinkot district. The project intends to improve and extend WASH services including water supply infrastructure and hygiene practices to improve outcomes for vulnerable families.
An Integrated Emergency Response: Medair aims to respond to high levels of food insecurity, malnutrition, and morbidity in Uruzgan, which has been significantly affected by drought and conflict conditions. Building upon Medair’s decades of experience in the Central Highlands and Kandahar, the project intends to improve and extend the utilization of lifesaving preventive and curative nutrition and health services by mothers, PLWs, and children U5; to increase access to clean water, to reduce vulnerability to water-related and other preventable diseases, and to improve and increase food security for the most vulnerable families through food voucher distributions.
Job Description:
Technical
Giving qualitative and participatory training on promoter level
Being a good example in the community
Building up the capacity of promoters and providing constructive feedback
Making sure that supporting Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) material is prepared and distributed on time and processed correctly.
Preparing tally Sheets and Training sheets for promoters training
Coordinate and liaise with local communities to find promoters as well as accurate training places for promoter trainings and cascade groups if required.
Coordinate and liaise with local communities when there are challenging circumstances or problems, and know when to ask for help from officer, managers, or other relevant parties.
Quality Management
Responsible for adequate data collection through promoters
Train promoters on data collection
Responsible for printing and preparing tally sheets on time.
Making sure that tally sheets are accurate
Main Activity
Giving high quality and participatory trainings on community and facility level
Capacity builds promoters and volunteers on training skills and topics according to curriculum
Preparing trainings, making sure IEC materials are ready on time and processed correctly
Providing constructive feedback towards promoters
Participating in household counts, surveys and other monitoring and evaluation activities
Provide accurate records, documents and reports as required
Job Requirements:
Education
Diploma in Nursing or Midwifery, or equivalent medical training.
Work experience
At least 1-year relevant experience in health promotion or health field
Languages
Fluent in Pashto and Dari – oral and written skills
Some English -oral and written skills

Ability to work in a team and coordinate tasks and responsibilities
Ability to organize people in an orderly way and prioritize tasks
Good listening and counselling skills, patient, and kind attitude
