Overview
*This position is Remote. Candidates must reside in California.**
Purpose Statement/Position Summary: Responsible for data entry, file maintenance, and other clerical processes for the release of information (ROI) in the HIM department. Collaborates with the Social Work Team for approval of sensitive notes and releases of PHI. Follows established policies and procedures to ensure effective and compliant record management. Ensures the privacy and security of all patient records. Manages information requests and verifies access to records: analysis and redacting records using the software.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 1-year of experience in health information management, preferably in release of information.

Proven ability to use electronic health record systems (EHR).

Demonstrated ability to type accurately and efficiently, with a focus on speed and attention to detail.

Ability to understand and comply with policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.

Education/Licensure/Certification: High School Diploma. Proof of successful completion of CHIA Release of Information modules, college based medical terminology class must be submitted within one year of signing job description.
Pay Scale Information
$34,944.00-$56,212.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
