The Implementation Director is accountable for driving successful project implementation, under the leadership and guidance of an Implementation Leader. They achieve this through leadership of the project team to achieve key deliverables, and solution and operationalize customer requirements.
The Implementation Directors work with the Implementation Leaders, Managers and Directors on the intake and project/requirement definition of implementation projects. They are accountable for project intake and assessment, resource planning and scheduling, proforma and resource estimation. They work closely with key stakeholders to understand and operationalize project requirements. They collaborate with the BAR team to ensure that requirements are documented and vetted with the appropriate functions to ensure adherence to commitments. They oversee establishing metrics and initial documentation for a new project before turning it over to Implementation Leaders. Additionally, they are accountable for the general implementation strategy, framework and tools, general reporting and communication, training and onboarding, process improvements and developing and implementing best practices.

Primary Responsibilities:
Implementation Director
Participate through the Final Review Meeting and impact overall response strategy
Review cost deviations and risks with the Program Director
Develop an understanding of the intent of the RFP Response and decisions made
Lead the implementation / overall accountability for the most complex programs
Day to day management of program
Understanding the detail of each program risk, functional area status, capital budget, etc.
Identifying and solutioning risks
Actively engaged in state communications and meetings
Executive review of status meetings
Submitting and managing all capital and change requests
Ability to effectively mentor IBA team implementation managers
Lead [at least] weekly meetings with IBA team assigned to a project
Identify and mitigate lessons learned while implementing
Identify ways to optimize the overall implementation process
Lead complex framework projects initiated by other teams

Required Qualifications:
Presently employed within UHC Benefit Operations / Operations and Experience
4+ years of project management experience managing multiple projects/tasks to meet contractual deadlines or other time sensitive commitments
Experience in managing projects where capital and Technology partnerships are required for successful delivery
Experience developing, applying and deploying processes, templates and standards
Intermediate experience with Excel and PowerPoint
Understanding of Medicaid and/or DSNP operational and regulatory expectations
Proven success working in a matrixed environment on highly complex projects
Proven ability to quickly gain credibility, influence and partner with business leaders and the human capital community. High integrity with a reputation of a trusted advisor and partner
Proven to be self-motivated and able to work with little direct supervision and drive results with disciplined follow-though
Proven solid drive for results
Proven excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications:
4+ years of managed care health plan operations experience to include, but not limited to claims, member/provider call center, IT, enrollment and/or eligibility, and/or provider operations
Medicaid, CHIP, long term care, DSNP and/or government health plan experience
Successful delivery of programs requiring large amounts of capital (>$1M) for technology development

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
