St Anne’s School is seeking to appoint with effect from 1st January 2025 an enthusiastic and committed person who is passionate about supporting young people. The Learning Support Assistant Level 1 supports young people to access learning and teaching opportunities by offering flexible support to learners, teachers and the school.
This is a permanent post of 27.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, term-time only. Hours of work are to be agreed with the Headteacher. Staff working part time will be paid on a pro-rata basis.
The person appointed will be employed by the States of Guernsey and will be based at St Anne’s School. They will be required to maximise opportunities for collaborative working, teaching and learning across key stages and shared professional development across schools, and may be required to work on more than one site to meet the needs of the Education Service.
The Education Department recognises Learning Support Assistants as professional members of the Education Service. The postholder will be expected to contribute to the daily life of the school community and to give support to the various activities and functions which take place.

This role will report to and work directly with the Inclusion Manager to ensure that all children and young people have access to intervention programmes and support required to ensure that they are included and make good progress and attainment.

Lead, develop and deliver identified intervention and support programmes to children and young people/ young adults across whole class, small group and 1:1 environments

St. Anne’s School is unique within the Bailiwick of Guernsey as an all-through school; one island – one school. We cater for learners aged from 3 to 16 and have a Foundation 1 Class (Pre-school) for children from the age of 3 with 15 hours FREE provision (9.00-12.00) Monday to Friday as a direct feed to our highly regarded Reception Class. As a wholly inclusive school we also offer Complex Needs provision and the make-up and structure of our classes varies greatly year upon year.
Set adjacent to Braye Beach, staff at St Anne’s School make the most of our beautiful location to capitalise on opportunities for learning outside of the classroom. We benefit from strong partnerships with our sister schools in Guernsey as well as the Guernsey Sports Commission and we access all available support, curriculum and enrichment opportunities that the States of Guernsey offers via either face to face visits or through use of online and remote learning tools.
Alderney is a unique location and is the northernmost of the inhabited Channel Islands. It is part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, a British Crown dependency. It is 3 miles long and 1 ¹⁄₂ miles wide.
