Position : Learning Support Officer – Gaborone

Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a team member to join us in Gaborone, Botswana. We are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Officer (LSO) to join our VET department in coordinating our online learning programs.
This position would suit a positive, motivated and enthusiastic person with a willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in the Education Industry is not required. In fact, we encourage applications from experienced administrators from any industry, with great technical skills, who are efficient, multi-taskers.
The successful candidate will report to the South African office for day-to-day activities and to the College Manager in Perth for role-related functions.

Responsibilities:
The Learning Support Officer (“LSO”) is responsible for the coordination and administration of online VET training courses.
The LSO liaises daily with students, instructors, assessors, and staff. The role also includes duties such as the coordination of intakes of courses and other administrative tasks. You will need to be organised and proactive, and have a keen eye for detail and deadlines, as you will be coordinating multiple courses at once, whilst ensuring quality and compliance are maintained at all times.
In addition to the main functions of the LSO, this role entails administrative duties such as basic office admin, ordering stationary, assisting walk-in students with queries, coordinating workshops and presentations and supporting international staff who travel to Botswana.

Answering customer queries

Receiving registrations from students and registering them on the courses you are coordinating.

Coordinating courses (scheduling of webinars, liaising with lecturers, compiling course materials, creating, and sending certificates, maintaining accurate records for all of your courses and adhering to all compliance requirements).

Identifying and counselling underperforming students

Liaising with overseas offices regarding courses

Quality monitoring

Sending and collating feedback

Ensure that the courses you coordinate fully comply with all the Standards for Registered Training Organizations

Implementing company policies and procedures

Training lecturers and students on the use of Blackboard Collaborate

Assisting in the scheduling of courses (add to database/ website)

Working with an maintaining the Paradigm, Student Management platform

Working with and maintaining the Moodle, Learning Management site

Providing assistance to the College Manager and your colleagues

Assisting with EIT accounts

Implementing and complying with company copies and procedures.

Ad hoc tasks as required by the college manager.

Additional Admin duties:

Answering general phone calls

Day-to-day admin functions of a small office

Receiving walk-in enquiries

Assisting with planning and coordinating events

Coordinating travel for international staff

Ad hoc duties as and when required.

It is important to note that this role is an office-based role with normal working hours between 08:00 and 16:30 Monday to Friday. Occasional travel may be required.
