The Head of Teacher’s Dev and Training Department is in charge of teacher training, teacher quality checks, conducting reviews to ensure student learning, differentiated parent communication overall and conducting classes. This role requires experience and expertise in English Language, Writing and Teaching.

As the Head Teacher’s Dev & Training Department, you are expected to provide vision and leadership to support student achievement and effective operations.

Responsibilities:

Teacher Development and Training

Provide vision and leadership to support student achievement and effective operations by supervising teachers and staff, developing and implementing performance management plans, identifying professional learning needs and participating in professional learning opportunities

Effectively participate in the employment process to ensure an effective site team is in place

Helping to design and deliver specific programmes to develop future leaders and teachers

Assisting teams to work collaboratively to enhance their pedagogical understanding

Production and provision of training materials and workplans to support company’s annual manpower/planning

Developing and refining practical on-the-job induction and training for assistant teachers and trainees

Recommending, planning, delivering and reviewing the effectiveness of specific training for individuals/small groups/whole staff, with the approval of the GM and Management, based on the needs and goals of the quarter/year

Supporting, monitoring and documenting the progress of trainee teachers and staff

Management

Provide supervision through assigning work, consistently monitoring and evaluating employee effectiveness and communicating and coaching employee development

Sharing all observations and recommendations with the management during regularly scheduled meetings

Handle parents’ complaints

Keeps up to date with research-based practices and developments in subject area, resources, and professional development, including but not limited to organization-wide initiatives

Day-to-day teacher training and development

Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development

Vetting and ensuring high quality of parent Communication

Manage teacher training and briefs

Manage checklists to note new, trial, make up students, trainee teachers & relief teachers

Handle parents’ complaints

Introducing courses to parents

Training teachers for growth

Pre-empting student learning issues, area of weaknesses and map out learning milestones

Ensure quality of teaching instruction, marking and parent communication

Any other ad hoc tasks or duties as part of contributing to the Teacher Development and Training team

Observation of classroom teaching to determine the professional development needs of teachers

Teaching

Passionate about teaching and learning with a genuine desire to work with students

Conduct classes online via Zoom (based on the center’s materials)

Marking of student’s work (real time)

Communicating with parents on student’s progress via zoom at PTM.

Send parents updates on the students’ progress via WhatsApp.

Skills Required:

Strong English Language proficiency

Montessori/Early childhood education is an added advantage

Has a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience

Prior related experience in the education industry preferred

Prior management experience

Knowledge of best practices in teaching and school administration and the management and operation of schools

Ability to work with and relate to students, teachers, and school personnel in the delivery of services to each arm and is cooperative and collaborative with colleagues

Strong oral or written communication skills

Leadership and team building skills

Good organisation skills

Confident

Able to portray oneself as an extension of the company professionally through one’s speech

Work Hours:

4 weekdays and Sat

Weekdays (Tuesday – Friday): 1pm – 10pm

Saturday: 9am – 6pm
