Optum Behavioral Care seeks a Manager, Nurse Assessor to ensure quality and patient safety standards adherence at our care delivery locations. This role will manage a team of RN Assessors, and be responsible for maintaining Practice Health & Safety, and Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety standards across OBC’s national range of clinical settings.

Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site, desktop, and virtual surveys to validate adherence to safety standards at Optum Behavioral Health care delivery sites
Lead implementation efforts of safety standards through consultation, training, and education at newly acquired care delivery organizations
In collaboration with care delivery organizations, develop and drive implementation of remediation plans to resolve non-adherence
Validate remediation is complete and sustained
Leverage critical thinking and clinical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues
Actively participate in National Standard updates and various Practice Health and Safety initiatives
Support program development through improving and creating program resources
Analyze data and data trends, create presentations and reporting to clinical leadership
Apply subject matter expertise in the area(s) of patient safety like infection control, medication management, lab services, emergency equipment, Environmental and Occupational health and safety, and national patient safety goals
Develop collaborative relationships with local care delivery leaders
Conduct quality assurance reviews of completed surveys to improve interrater reliability efforts
Provide clinical expertise and support to Clinical Risk Management team

Required Qualifications:
Current/unrestricted RN License
5+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse
3+ years of experience in program administration and/or clinical leadership roles, including direct supervision of team members
3+ years of experience conducting on-site assessments, surveys, or audits
Experience managing practice health and safety programs and/or initiatives for a healthcare organization
Experience working in a matrixed environment
Experience presenting to all levels of an organization
Proven data analysis skills and familiarity with data analytic tools
Willing or availability to travel up to 30% of the time
Distraction-free space in home for home office with access to high-speed internet
Access to reliable transportation when required to travel to local sites
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Experience in Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety
Experienced in a remote/telecommuting role
Experience using/implementing analytical, organizational, and problem-solving ability skills
Project management experience
Conflict resolution experience
General knowledge of Joint Commission standards
General knowledge of behavioral health
Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards
PC and Microsoft Office Proficiency
Proven ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, high-growth environment
Proven objective, collaborative, professional and personable approach

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
