This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Ekumen. We are currently looking for a Mobile Software Engineer in Latin America.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to challenging mobile engineering projects, focusing on low-level solutions that leverage device sensors and native capabilities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality, maintainable, and scalable mobile applications. The position emphasizes both independent problem-solving and collaboration in a bilingual environment. You will be part of a dynamic team that values technical expertise, continuous learning, and innovation. This role is fully remote and ideal for engineers who enjoy tackling complex technical challenges while growing their skillset across multiple languages and platforms.
Accountabilities
Design, implement, and maintain mobile software solutions using Java, Android NDK, and C++.
Tackle mid-sized development tasks independently while contributing ideas for technical improvements.
Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate low-level mobile features involving device sensors.
Participate in technical discussions, making informed proposals and contributing to architecture decisions.
Ensure code quality by following best practices, including readability, reusability, and scalability.
Maintain clear communication in a bilingual environment to coordinate with team members across LATAM and beyond.
Optionally support containerization and automation efforts using Docker and Python where applicable.
Requirements
Proficiency in Java and experience with Android NDK.
Familiarity with C++ and low-level mobile development.
Ability to independently tackle mid-sized development tasks.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to engage in technical discussions.
Fluent in Spanish and English, comfortable working in a bilingual team.
Located in Buenos Aires, Lima, Bogotá, or Santiago de Chile.
Nice-to-have: experience with Docker and Python.
Passion for continuous learning and applying new tools, frameworks, and best practices.
