Networking and Industrial Controls Systems Engineer (Cybersecurity)
Siemens Industry – Process Automation (PA): The PA business unit has an Industrial Networking/Cyber Security Engineer position open with a focus on networking/security infrastructure products and technologies as they relate to automation systems/utilities/and transportation (rail,ITS). We are looking for a Networking and Industrial Controls Systems Engineer. This position will be remote and can be located anywhere within the continental United States.
You’ll make an impact by:

Acts as the subject matter expert on networking infrastructure products and technologies in the Siemens RuggedCom and Scalance product family while executing assigned service requests.

Demonstrate a combination of technical and project management skills.

Applies acquired process, product and/or equipment knowledge based on current industry trends, best practices, performance, price and functionality.

Provides technical product advice for the development and implementation of customer solutions.

Prepares and presents detailed technical proposals, including product demonstrations and solution prototypes.

Performs complex hardware and/or software design consultation in accordance with customer/project needs.

Resolves very complex technical problems to meet customers’ needs.

Perform on-site activities that include configuration of switches and routers, firewalls, IDS, NMS, network integration with third party components, testing and troubleshooting networks, performing system tests with reports as required, and optimizing existing networks.

Provide Pre-sales support for the RuggedCom and Scalance products.

Generates technical collateral such as application notes and examples for reuse by others.

Develop and/or deliver training courses to customer and partners.

Implements a yearly learning and development plan focusing on technical skills and engineering soft skills.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent GED

8+ years of professional experience

5+ years of experience with network infrastructures as it relates to automation/utilities/transportation systems.

Network design within IT and Automation platforms. (Topologies, Rings, Routing, VLAN, VRRP).

WLAN design under IEEE 802.11 and knowledge in Rapid Roaming, IPCF, IPCF-MC.

Networking analysis knowledge and proficiencies in Wireshark, SNMP, NMap, Wireless Site Surveys, Modeling, and Simulation Tools.

Strong understanding of IE62443, NIST, NERC CIP, and other ICS Security Standards

Strong understanding of ITOT and Digitalization.

Advanced Protocol knowledge in Automation, IT, SCADA, Security, and MES.

Extensive knowledge in Profinet/Profibus/Profisafe.

Cellular 4G/5G knowledge

Controllers (PLCs)/HMI Systems

Travel: 35-50% monthly, travel is domestic and rarely on weekends.

Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in electrical/computer/mechanical engineering/computer science

5+ years of experience with Ruggedcom/Scalance products

Prior Siemens automation/networking experience is a plus.

Networking Certifications such as CCNP or Siemens certifications.

Cybersecurity Certifications such as GICSP/ISA 62443 Badges/CISSP.

Experience in VMware and virtualization.

The pay range for this position is $98,980 – $169,680 and the annual incentive will be 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
