In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters. HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland.
HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculus through a community system strengthening approach.

Job Description:

Ensure the patients triage registration and check of vital signs

Organize the waiting time of patients by ensuring a well-organized queue system according to priorities emergency cases and first come first served basis

Identify patient in need of urgent care and refer them immediately to the Medical Doctor

Ensure pregnant, old people ,very sick, disables and children are prioritized in the waiting area

Register any patient coming to seek care in the registration book

Take the measure of vital signs (blood pressure heart rate respiratory rate temperature) for all registered patients

Realize paramedics acts

Follow the basic medical rules of hygiene/IP when performing any paramedics act

Do injections according to necessity and/or prescription and in respect to MoPH protocols and rules of hygiene.

Perform any other acts (e.g.: aerosol bandage) as required by the Medical Doctor in respect to MoPH protocols and rules of hygiene

Perform dressing and first aid to injured patients.

Facilitate the referral of patients

Respect the MoPH Standards of Procedures for referral of patient

Upon the decision of the Medical Doctor participate to the referral of patient to other health facilities by recording information in the referral book and assisting the Medical Doctor as required

Accompany patients to the external referral HF when required

Ensure the patient follow up in respect to Medical Doctor recommendations

Conduct health education/promotion sessions

Attend the relevant meeting with community

Ensure that GRM is in place and following up

Night duty base on need

Assist medical doctor in pharmacy management and monthly consumption report preparation

Recording and reporting of beneficiaries.

Tally and register each patient in dressing and HMIS registers.

Prepare charts and graphs of the beneficiaries.

Prepare weekly and monthly reports and submit it on time to provincial office.

Responsible for proper data collection and monthly report.

Any other relevant task given by his/her line manager.

Job Requirements:

Having nursing diploma from recognized faculty/institution.

At least 3 year full time experience of working as medical nurse.

To be fluent in writing and speaking Pashto, Dari and working knowledge in English languages.

Ability to work long hours, often under pressure

Ability to travel remote areas and districts.

Good practical skills

Good communication skills
