This type of appointment is not approved to work more than 999 hours per year for all positions combined. Should incumbents work more than a total of 999 hours in a year the appointment may not continue beyond one year of service.

Accountabilities
Remote Part-Time Readers for the Colgate Office of Admission will provide critical support in
the holistic assessment of Early and Regular Decision first-year applicants to the University.
They will be asked to conduct a number of application-review tasks, which will primarily
include computing and gathering quantitative data on applicants as well as conducting a holistic
applicant review alongside a reading partner. Thorough training on all elements of Colgate’s
application review process will be conducted upon hire. Remote Part-Time Readers must be
comfortable evaluating applicants in accordance with Colgate’s mission as outlined in the Third-
Century Plan and the standards of a highly selective liberal arts institution. In order to ensure
efficient and high quality application review, the ability to work accurately at a fast pace and to
provide comprehensive and relevant summary comments is essential.
Requirements
Professional Experience/ Qualifications

As remote employees, candidates must have their own computer and a stable internet connection.

A Bachelor’s degree is required, along with at least one year of experience with application review.

Competitive candidates will have strong math skills in addition to organizational and time management skills.

Collaborative work experience and the ability to work with confidential information are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Appreciation of the liberal arts philosophy and/or previous volunteer or employment experience in the liberal arts will be considered a plus.

Knowledge of non-U.S. educational systems and curriculums with experience reviewing international credentials is recommended.

Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required.
