We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cloud Platform Engineer with expertise in AWS. The ideal candidate will be responsible and accountable for both project-related tasks and second-level support of business-as-usual (BAU) operations. This role demands a technically strong individual who is attentive to detail and self-motivated to learn cross-skilled technologies. The right candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude during challenging situations and maintain a passion for continuous skill and knowledge improvement.
Responsibilities of the Role:
Proactively maintain and develop all cloud platforms to ensure a 24×7 service.
Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for AWS cloud, managing the entire estate end-to-end.
Maintain best practices for managing systems and services across all environments.
Provide L1, L2, and L3 level server support in alignment with current team operations.
Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, and hotfixes on servers.
Create and modify scripts or applications for task automation.
Offer insights on enhancing the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment.
Collaborate with other teams to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.
Provide on-call support during off hours as needed.
Participate in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) drills.
Manage physical server infrastructure using remote access tools.
Manage and maintain virtual machines in both internal ESX farm and AWS.
Build new physical and virtual servers per established standards.
Conduct fault finding, analysis, and logging information for performance exception reporting.
Monitor system performance proactively and engage in capacity planning.
Maintain and support servers installed with cluster software and databases.
Required Skills for the Role:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or similar
Proven experience with external cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure.
Strong knowledge of Linux (RedHat) in both physical and virtual environments.
Hands-on experience with physical and virtual server deployments and commissioning.
Knowledge of Kubernetes/Containers/Dockers.
Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts.
Basic knowledge of VMWare and SAN management concepts.
Familiarity with various HPE or other server hardware and architecture.
Expertise in automation using Ansible or similar tools.
Proficient in scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, and/or Python for automation tasks.
Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
