The program director provides strategic leadership and direction for vaccine related oversight of environmental and occupational health services (EOHS) provisions as well as quality oversight for the Community and State line of business.
The program director works within and across matrixed team and markets to develop and lead a proactive and evolving EOHS strategy for member facing roles, considering state specific provisions with active management of compliance, monitoring and appropriate corrective action.
The role will also support market quality directors and their leadership team to develop comprehensive strategies aimed at market quality distinction in support of optimizing outcomes for C&S growth, business performance, clinical management, accreditation and compliance.

Primary Responsibilities:

Oversee C&S Compliance with Occupational & Environmental Health Provisions

Provide oversight and review of Federal, State, and Local regulatory and organizational guidelines for the Occupational & Environmental Health of employees

Managing the policy and implementation for accommodations as appropriate

Creating systems to track adherence, exemptions, trainings and supplies as applicable

Evaluate compliance and implement process improvement activities to address areas of non-compliance or ensure procedures are followed

Guide the implementation of the appropriate corrective action as needed

Oversee C&S Market Quality Coordination with National teams

Support Market Quality Directors and their leadership team to develop comprehensive strategies aimed at Market Quality distinction

Establish a structured quality coordination approach to build synergies across teams for optimizing quality outcomes across various functional areas like growth, business performance, clinical management, accreditation and compliance.

Help apply data to inform market specific strategy and inform the market’s quality implementation framework adopting a best practices approach

Support the provision of tools, training and advocacy to facilitate the work including the maintenance of a playbook

Required Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in health care industry and / or health care education program

8+ years of experience with demonstrated functional knowledge, process improvement initiatives and organizational behavior

5+ years of significant leadership and managerial experience

Expert knowledge of the managed care/health insurance industry, products, and services

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience leading integrated and progressive health care quality improvement programs

Experience leading environmental and occupational health services

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; superior communication abilities with executive leaders

Superior skills in influence and negotiation

Excellent planning and solid problem-solving skills that enable quick identification and efficient issue resolution

Highly collaborative individual with ability to influence others and build strong professional relationships

Proven success in improving performance and leading within an integrated/matrixed core service.

Excellent planning and strong problem-solving skills; independent decision maker and risk taker

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
