ARSDO is one of the national Non-Profit Development Organizations in Afghanistan, with deep trenched and far-reaching social interventions in the region. ARSDO is implementing community development and empowerment programs at the grass root level and to connect it at policy level. The organization adopted three pronged strategies to reach towards its destination 1) Organizing communities around issues and challenges and strengthen grass roots community institution with the philosophy of inclusion the vulnerable including women and children 2) Increased knowledge and capacities of local communities including women and children on issues and made them able to take Co Implementing partner and contribute in addressing the existing and emerging issues and challenges proactively 3) Advocacy on issues and laws (improved justice and recommendations on new laws and strategies to combat social, economic and rights based evil practices at all levels). ARSDO is implementing programs and projects i.e. Education, Health, Economic empowerment and humanitarian response with the main approach and strategy of advocacy and service delivery.
Job Description:
The Psychosocial Counselor is responsible for the following:

Responsible for day-to-day management and supervision of the Health Center.

Ensure the Health Center guidelines are followed in all activities of Health Center.

Provide PSS case management, including referral to any other available services (health, specialized mental health, etc.) when requested by the client.

Regular and continuous follow-up of clients registered in the Health Center.

Provide individual and group psychosocial support to women and girls to help them cope with the trauma reactions.

Provide psychological first aid (PFA) and assess the needs of clients through one-to-one sessions.

Responsible for maintaining and confidentiality of all registered documents.

Compile and share weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting with the relevant person/Technical Manager.

In consultation with the technical manager, provide technical support to all Health Center activities, and community mobilizers.

Based on the request of the authorized person, attend and participate in all relevant meetings/training-related meetings to the program’s purpose.

Ensure that all work with clients is kept confidential and that ethical practices are always followed.

Process request and purchase requests for the Health Center needy supplies and ensure Health Center supplies are constant and are used properly.

Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Diploma or bachelor degree in Psychology, Psychosocial counseling or can consider a midwife with two years’ extensive experience in PSS field for remote location and where the IPs could not onboard the candidate with bachelor degree.

At least 2-3 years of field experience within a Humanitarian NGO/Agency in the same or similar position.

Extensive experience providing Psychosocial support to individuals and groups.

Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Skilled at working as a team member.

Possess group facilitation skills.

Able to speak/write in Pashto and Dari with clarity and ease.

Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours.

Ability to work under pressure.
