The Quality Assurance Engineer II is responsible for supporting the planning, design, and execution of project quality from the beginning and system testing on all simple to complex support portfolio projects. Further, they work collaboratively within the delivery and support teams and account managers to meet standard requirements consistently.

Core Responsibilities and Expectations Thereof

Active participation in grooming each Jira issue

Responsible for efficient and empathetic communication with stakeholders via Jira toward completing requirement gathering and building requirement clarity

Responsible for reviewing user requirements documents to ensure that requirements are testable

Accountable for adding Acceptance Criteria to the ticket and updating the assignee to Technical Analyst

Identify and document defects when performing test execution in a fast-paced, fluid, and changing environment.

Responsible for developing test plans, reviewing test cases, test scripts, and test reports for assigned projects

Responsible for performing testing on different situations and scenarios to create appropriate reports

Responsible for validating that user expectations are achieved during the testing process

Adapt for automated testing

Responsible for writing Behat scripts or codeless solutions

Responsible for writing automated visual regression tests using configuration-based tools

Responsible for helping improve automation tool and framework implementations by providing relevant feedback about the feedback as a user of the framework

Contribute to risk management

Responsible for identifying project risks relative to testing and implementation

Help establish, execute, and evolve quality assurance processes and systems.

Not blindly follow industry best practices.

Determine effective testing and inspection strategies

Confirm measurable test objectives are created for each tested system

Fully document quality assurance defects: summary, mitigation, retrospectives, iterations

Prevent silos and collaborate freely with stakeholders

Provide thorough testing of projects before releasing them to a production environment

Regularly participate in career development activities

Responsible for at least quarterly self-performance reviews.

Responsible for actively demonstrating Axelerant .

Supports various learning initiatives/programs at Axelerant by being an active participant in webinars, show-n-tell sessions, and learning clubs.


More than 3.5 years experience in Manual Testing – Functional, Regression, API Testing

1-2 years experience working on agile projects

Experience in automating Acceptance tests

Experience in cross-browser testing

Experience in cross-device (mobile) testing

Comfortable communicating in English

Available to work full time

Nice to Have

Experience testing in a CMS environment, preferably Drupal, then WordPress

Experience with Salesforce testing is a plus.

Hands-on experience using Jira

Hands-on experience using any automation tool

Ability to manage multiple projects split across several development teams

Experience working within a digital agency-style environment

Disciplined in working remotely

Demonstrated contributions to the quality assurance community

Ability to utilize Virtual Machine testing environments

Ability to understand SOW requirements and create test plans accordingly

Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding project status and with the client or sales department with any questions regarding QA

Automation experience for Front End, Functional, and Framework

Experience identifying possible UX issues

Multi-desktop and mobile platform methodologies–Windows, OSX, iOS, Android

Special Considerations

All of Axelerant’s roles are considered work from anywhere. But, we’re mainly looking to build our teams around Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia unless specified otherwise. And, we typically expect people to have a two-hour crossover with 11 AM to 7 PM India (UTC+05:30) each workday for meetings and coaching. Further, our salaries are India-based with regional factoring, though some overrides exist.
