We are a UK-based bookkeeping and accounting advisory firm seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Remote Bookkeeper based in Ghana to support our growing client base. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and Hubdoc and will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks for clients across various sectors. This includes ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting compliance requirements under UK accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records using Xero, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent
Process invoices, receipts, and payments via Hubdoc
Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable/receivable
Prepare VAT returns for review
Generate financial reports, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
Communicate effectively
Perform other tasks as may be suitably required
Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications and Requirements
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accountant
Proficient in Microsoft Excel , Google Sheets, Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and Hubdoc
Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and VAT
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Tech-savvy – comfortable using accounting and communication software, and able to adapt to new technology quickly
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Professional and well-balanced approach to email communication
Must have access to a working laptop or computer, stable internet, and a phone for communication and work tasks
Preferred
Experience with UK-based clients or working with international businesses
Experience handling multiple clients or working in an outsourcing environment

Additional Information
This is a freelance/self-employed position based in Ghana. No relocation is required or promised. You will be responsible for disclosing and filing any applicable local taxes on your income paid by us to you in Ghana.
