Responsibilities:

Teaching and Academic Support

Excellent delivery of courses (30 – 36 credit hours per fiscal year) across any/all modalities.

Advising and mentoring of students.

University Service

Engage in course development (4-5 courses per fiscal year) and assessment support.

Advising and mentoring of Visiting Professors.

Engagement and support for group programs and initiatives.

Contribute to the University development via the following activities:

Professional Development

Contribute one’s professional development via the following activities:

Engage in scholarly activity, including keeping up to date in one’s field of study.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Below are the minimum requirements of the education, experience, knowledge, and skills required to competently perform in this position. Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in field being taught or master’s degree in related field with 18 graduate hours in field being taught.

Three to five years of healthcare industry experience appropriate to the course subject matter.

Two years previous teaching experience.

Qualifying credentials must be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Administration, or by an international institution determined to hold equivalent accreditation.

Coding:

RHIA industry certification from AHIMA

CPC certification from AAPC or CCS certification from AHIMA

Preferred Qualifications:

Reimbursement/Revenue Cycle Management (RCM):

CPB with AAPC (Certified Professional Biller)

CORCM with AIHC (Certified Outpatient Revenue Cycle Manager)

AHIMA-Approved Revenue Cycle Trainer with AHIMA

Doctorate Degree in field being taught or Doctorate Degree in related field with 18 graduate hours in field being taught.

All Degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent.

Five years previous teaching experience preferred.

Previous course development experience preferred.
