Remote Web/App Designer

JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly motivated Remote Web/App Designer with experience in designing marketing websites, eCommerce/Shopify Themes as well as mobile apps. As a designer in this role, you will be responsible for creating or modifying designs/layouts for existing or new projects using tools like Figma or Whimsical.
Key Responsibilities:
– Design and Layout Creation: Develop visually appealing and user-friendly designs and layouts for marketing websites and Shopify themes using Figma.
– Modification of Existing Designs: Adapt and refine existing designs to align with project goals and client requirements.
Collaborate with Development Teams: Work with developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and meet technical specifications.
– Communication: Communicate with clients or project managers to understand the design needs, preferences, and feedback, and translate these into effective design solutions.
Prototype Development: Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to illustrate design concepts and user flows, when needed.
– Responsive Design Implementation: Ensure that all designs are optimized for various devices and screen sizes, maintaining a consistent user experience.
– Brand Consistency: Maintain brand consistency across all web designs, ensuring alignment with the company’s or client’s visual identity.
– Documentation and Handoff: Prepare design documentation and provide clear handoff materials to developers and other team members for implementation.
Requirements:
– Proven Experience: At least 3 years of experience in web and mobile app design, with a strong portfolio showcasing work on marketing websites, eCommerce/Shopify themes, and mobile apps.
– Proficiency in Design Tools: Expertise in using design tools such as Figma and Whimsical for creating high-fidelity designs, wireframes, and prototypes.
– Understanding of Web and Mobile Design Principles: Strong knowledge of design principles, including responsive design, user-centered design, and usability best practices for both web and mobile platforms.
– Experience with eCommerce/Shopify: Familiarity with designing for eCommerce platforms, particularly Shopify, including themes, templates, and customization options.
– Collaboration Skills: Ability to work closely with developers and other team members to ensure designs are accurately implemented, with strong communication and teamwork abilities.
– Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail in design work, ensuring precision in layout, typography, color schemes, and overall visual presentation.
– Client-Focused: Strong client communication skills with the ability to understand client needs, gather feedback, and incorporate it effectively into design iterations.
– Problem-Solving Ability: Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt designs based on technical constraints or client feedback.
– Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, remote working environment.
– Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated on the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, with a proactive approach to learning and applying new skills.
Additional Information:
– This is a fully remote position, allowing flexibility in work location and schedule.
– Candidates with a proven portfolio of web and app designs will be given preference.
– Compensation will be commensurate with experience and performance.
