Job Description
Checkout.com is actively seeking an ambitious and talented Senior Associate with previous experience in Scheme Fees reconciliation domain to join our growing Finance Team in Mauritius.
Working as part of our Cost of Sales Operations function, you will support and optimise the scheme fees reconciliation of Card Schemes and other acquiring channels. Evolving in a high-pace and dynamic environment, meticulous attention to detail will be the key.
The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and laser-focused individual who is highly numerate and enjoys working with large and intricate datasets. You must be a team player when it comes to getting the job done and assisting and guiding junior team members with routine queries, whilst maintaining accuracy and quality of output.
How you’ll make an impact:
Assessment and mapping of invoices costs across Card Schemes and other acquiring channels
Reconcile Checkout.com pricing engine predicted scheme fees with Card Schemes and other acquiring channels billings
Investigate and action on identified deltas with internal and external partners
Provide mapped invoices as well as insights to Revenue Accounting team for month-end reporting
Perform analyses to identify scheme fees optimisation opportunities for Checkout.com
Work closely with the Scheme Fees function to review fees and provide recommendations
Consistently improve existing reconciliation processes to scale, introducing new controls and minimising need for manual effort in routine tasks
Help build new reconciliation processes from scratch – including discovery, data requirements setting, report testing, consolidation – all to pre-set team standards
Help document reconciliation processes
Work with the relevant teams (wider Finance, Product and Engineering) to streamline processes
Assist with training new joiners on tasks and internal tools, and with the preliminary review of outputs from analysts in the team
Participate actively in project work and product initiatives
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
4+ years of experience with reconciliations in the Card Schemes pricing domain and/or in high-volume transaction environment
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with motivation to find end-to-end solutions
Ability to work cross-functionally and with remote teams
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with complex datasets
Ability to meet tight deadlines in an evolving environment and sometimes shifting priorities
Willingness to take the initiative and continuously learn
Strong sense of ownership and accountability
Proficient in Microsoft Excel required
Experience with SQL server and BI tools is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in Finance
Fluency in English, and superb communication skills at all levels
Knowledge of Interchange and Scheme Fees, Card Schemes and Payments Processing will be an advantage
