// This role will be based in North America. Due to time zone constraints (part of the team is located in London, UK), only candidates from Denver to the East Coast will be considered.

Role Description

// We are looking for an exceptional client-facing technical Program Manager with substantial commercial, relationship management, project control and negotiation skills to implement our cloud-based fare payment platform at the world’s most significant and most vital transit agencies. This person will be a dynamic member of the Global Services team, acting as a change agent for transit agencies worldwide.

In this position, transit experience is highly desirable as you will be responsible for managing the migration and implementation of full fare, account-based solutions through their entire lifecycle; from design to delivery, including all software, hardware (onboard bus validation, gates and handheld devices, smart-card solutions, ticket vending machines, retail channels), integration points (SDK and custom integration) through to launch planning and long-term adoption strategies. You will be working on some of the country’s most complex transit projects, including partnering with Masabi’s range of system integrators and providing expert guidance on Masabi’s fare payment solutions as part of more holistic digital transformation programs.

On a Program Level, you will be responsible for developing a program’s objectives and strategy and assessing how it will impact our partners, business, or organisation. You will define and oversee the projects needed to reach targeted goals for each program. You will also get to lead a group of Masabi service personnel (project managers, account managers, technical consultants, support and hardware teams) in a team-oriented approach to program delivery, leveraging skills and assets across the service team and matrixed teams.

Overall, we’re looking for people who possess great experience in change management and digital transformation programs and are adept at using consultative skills to guide transit agencies and partners on how they should implement full-fare collection strategies.

Responsibilities

Program manage complex technical solutions, including custom solutions within transportation and MaaS

Familiarity with systems integrators and embedded technology models within this type of delivery, from interest all the way through to system delivery

Financial accountability for program delivery for profitability, margin and cost basis

Commercial accountability and control from pre-bid to post-delivery

Working with agencies at all levels to develop full-fare collection and MaaS (Mobility-as-a-Service) solutions

Executive management relationship development

Key stakeholder management, relationship management and consulting services for best practices, risk management, cost control and commercial decisions

Creation and management of delivery schedules, as well as management of complex projects and relationships at the most senior levels

Negotiating critical roadmap requirements with internal teams

Working with business development and account managers to scope requirements, as well as defining feasibility and cost estimation for new or existing opportunities

Leading status meetings and steering committees to represent the agency voice and negotiate strongly for the agency on timelines, requirements, customisation, integration and enhancements

Assess project and executive risk to implement controls, communication and risk management strategies

// If you have experience in the following, we’re looking for you. But, we aren’t solely looking for candidates with experience in all of these areas — if you meet a few of these criteria, we would love to hear from you:

Exceptional program management in complex, technical environments and large-scale system migrations

Strong experience in project management or development methodology: Agile, PMP, PMBOK or Prince2

A number of years of experience in the E2E project lifecycle, from bid to delivery, with full responsibility for multiple projects

Delivery management in a complex, technical discipline with a configuration component and SaaS delivery methodology

A true business manager who can be creative and entrepreneurial and enjoys dealing with the grey zones

Strong experience in strategic-level negotiations in a large multinational type organisation

Proficiency with Microsoft or Google presentations, documents or spreadsheets, and project management solutions (MS Project, Gantt, Smartsheets etc.)

Collaborative team player who believes in creating strong internal dynamics

Highly desirable: exposure or at least understanding of Full Fare Collection/Mobility as a Service, payment processing or credit card transactions

Willingness to travel up to 15-25% of the time (mostly internally in the USA or Canada, and when it’s safe to do so)

Knowledge or proven interest in transit or smart-city applications
