Position : Senior Project Manager – Remote
Western Governors University (WGU) is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee large-scale, complex projects within the university. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing cross-functional teams, delivering projects on time and within budget, and driving organizational success. Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership:

Lead and manage the planning, execution, and closure of large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with WGU’s business goals.

Serve as the main point of contact for project communication, resolving issues and providing timely updates to stakeholders.

Oversee project teams, ensuring collaboration and clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Planning and Execution:

Work with senior management and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Develop detailed project plans that include timelines, resources, budgets, and risk management strategies.

Allocate resources, assign tasks, and track progress to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet objectives.

Risk Management:

Identify potential project risks and create strategies to mitigate their impact on project timelines and budgets.

Proactively manage risks and issues, ensuring prompt resolution to keep projects on track.

Stakeholder Management:

Foster and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.

Provide regular status updates to stakeholders, adjusting plans as necessary to accommodate changes.

Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure project success.

Budget and Resource Management:

Create and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints.

Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate cross-functional teams.

Strong experience with project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Trello, Asana, etc.).

Prior experience in the higher education sector or a related field is highly desirable.

PMP, Agile, or similar certifications preferred.
