The Role:

Senior SCADA / OT Engineer

Remote Hybrid role – you must be based in Ireland and have a car and full clean driving license as some travel to client sites will be required. Some, limited, international travel will also be required

Role Brief:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, commissioning, and support of a plant wide SCADA project. He/she will also be responsible for the development of the SCADA systems from design, specification, programming, simulation, testing and start-up assistance. He/she will be required to work closely with Vendors and OEM’s to deliver the optimum solution for the client in a vendor package capacity. The candidate must possess the technical expertise to maintain, develop, troubleshoot, and validate these systems in a compliant manner.
Skills Brief:
Essential:

Experience developing SCADA applications using the Ignition SCADA platform is essential.

Demonstrable experience maintaining / developing Batch Control, OEE, Dashboards within Ignition.

Controls expertise across PLC, HMI & SCADA would be essential.

Experienced with solution delivery with industrial controls protocols such as OPC DA/ UA for equipment integration to Level 2 systems.

Familiarity with IoT protocols and technologies such as MQTT and Kafka would be desirable.

Desirable: Ideally you will have some or all of these skills

SQL Expertise: You should have experience developing / maintaining databases utilised by applications developed (MS SQL Server / Postgres desirable).

Experience of integration requirements for MES applications.

Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python scripting is an essential requirement. Additionally, C# and Visual Basic would be beneficial.

Agile Methodologies: Experience working in agile projects with Azure DevOps is an advantage, but not essential.

Person Brief:

Life Science Industry Expertise: The ideal candidate will have a background within the Life Science Industry, with a strong under-standing of 21CFR , GAMP 5, GxP and validation protocols.

5+ years experience in a software development role is essential with higher level coding and developments skills in the likes of C#, VB, .NET, SQL Server.

As this is a client facing role, excellent communication and documentation skills are required in requirements definition, design and validation phases of projects.

The successful candidate will be required to lead projects and mentor a small team in the full life cycle of projects.

Demonstrated ability to build and track project estimates, support client proposals alongside commercial team.

The ability to identify, promote and share best practices within technical groups as part of continuous improvement.

Important to note:
The role is offered on a remote / hybrid basis. Only candidates based in Ireland can be considered and due to the need for international travel, only EU and UK citizens can be considered at this time. You must have a full clean driving license and car and be available to travel to clients sites as required – expected travel – circa 20%
Person Brief:
Candidates must have a B.Sc. degree in Engineering or equivalent, with emphasis in software development, electrical, electronic or automation discipline, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in industry, preferably in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, blue chip or relevant GMP manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and strong problem skills.
