Role Overview (Remote working model with an English-speaking environment)
We are looking for a Senior WordPress Developer to build high-performance, scalable, and secure WordPress solutions from the ground up. This role goes beyond basic theme and plugin development – we’re seeking professionals who can architect and implement bespoke WordPress solutions using modern development practices, with a strong focus on performance, security, and minimizing dependency on third-party plugins.
While prior experience with WordPress and Gutenberg is preferred, we are also open to candidates with strong PHP frameworks experience (Laravel, Symfony, etc.) and a willingness to upskill in WordPress development.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop custom WordPress solutions using modern development architecture.
Build scalable, secure, and performance-optimized themes and plugins tailored to project needs.
Leverage Gutenberg block editor for building flexible, modular content systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture, technical direction, and deliverables.
Maintain clean, efficient, and well-documented code aligned with development best practices.
Ensure code is tested, deployable, and compatible with CI/CD workflows.
Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services as needed.
Monitor and troubleshoot performance, security, and stability issues.
Required Skills & Experience:
Solid experience working with WordPress in at least 7 years of experience and Gutenberg (or willingness to learn).
Strong proficiency in PHP, with knowledge of OOP, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
Experience working with databases such as MySQL/MariaDB/PostgreSQL, including query optimization.
Familiarity with JavaScript, especially React.js (used in Gutenberg block development).
Proficiency with version control tools (Git).
Hands-on experience with Docker, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Knowledge of unit testing, integration testing, and E2E testing.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in agile environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with modern PHP frameworks like Laravel or Symfony.
Knowledge of headless CMS architectures and decoupled frontends.
Experience developing custom WordPress plugins or themes.
Familiarity with modern frontend stacks: React, Vue.js, Tailwind CSS, etc.
Background in SaaS or product-based environments.
Understanding of hosting infrastructure, CDN, reverse proxy, and security layers (e.g., WAF).
