Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services using Python.
Design and implement cloud-based solutions using AWS technologies such as EventBridge, S3, EC2, Athena, and Lambda.
Manage and query large datasets using Athena.
Design, implement, and maintain scalable search and analytics solutions using OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
Implement containerization and orchestration using Docker.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
Requirements:
Backend:
Proficiency in Python and experience with backend development.
Strong understanding of APIs and web services.
Cloud:
Experience with AWS technologies such as EventBridge, S3, EC2, Athena, and Lambda.
Experience in designing and deploying cloud-based solutions.
Database:
Familiarity with AWS Athena or other similar stack for data analysis and management.
Experience in OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, Kibana or similar stacks
Frontend:
Familiarity with Javascript frontend stack (ReAct / etc)
DevOps:
Hands-on experience with Docker for containerization.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
What would be nice to have:
Web scraping
Experience with web scraping, e.g., Requests, Selenium, Puppeteer etc.
AI
Understanding of natural language processing, large language models and related technologies such as RAG, Langchain, OpenAI API, etc.
Subject matter
Experience in conducting analysis in social science
