You will work on the Linode API on our Compute team. You’ll work closely with the Cloud Manager team to accomplish new and exciting infinitives. As a Software Engineer Senior, you will be responsible for:
Designing, developing web-based application backends for Akamai’s internal and external customers utilizing Python based components and tools.
Creating the underlying API functionality via our REST API
Providing technical guidance in code reviews, design reviews, contributing to enhanced production support, effective resolution of issues.
Partnering with cross-functional teams to develop new tools and features, evaluate future technology and library choices.
Improving application performance, features, and reliability
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
Have 7 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
Demonstrate extensive experience with the full software development life cycle including code reviews, release management and support
Show experience developing software in Python or other similar programming language
Have experience with web application development, design patterns and frameworks such as REST-ful APIs, ORM layers, etc..
Have experience with and knowledge of databases
Have excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, particularly in advanced SQL, while being a team player
