Position Summary:
The Specialist Materials Planning /MRP (Materials Run Planning) Buyer is accountable for procuring the necessary materials, specifically printed packaging, to fulfill inventory needs and achieve customer service objectives within site operations. This entails collaborating with the Planning Team, Site Production Schedulers, Vendors, Brand Managers, and Procurement. The Specialist reviews the master plan, procures the required materials, and ensures order alignment to effectively execute the production schedule. Top consideration will be given to candidates located in the NYC metro marketplace with ability to travel to the office in Bohemia, NY on a quarterly basis.
Responsibilities:
Purchase printed packaging i.e.. Labels, IFC’s Printed Shrink sleeves
Track orders and conduct vendor communication to ensure timely delivery
Maintain inventory levels based on provided targets
Collaborate with internal customers and suppliers to prioritize and deliver materials on time and in full
Work with cross functional teams to resolve parked and blocked vendor invoices
Resolve issues and problems, escalating complex situations to Manager
Identify ways to optimize and improve efficiency for assigned products
Participate in process improvement projects
Provide forward-looking production requirements to Procurement/Suppliers
Utilize SAP, BI, and Excel-based reports to analyze products and provide recommendations
Create ad hoc excel reports to problem-solve and communicate up
Requirements:
HS Diploma or equivalent
Bachelor’s Degree, strongly preferred
2+ years’ work related experience
Knowledge and experience with ERP planning tools
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
SAP ERP system experience preferred
Strong multi-tasking, follow-up, and communication (verbal and written) skills
Strong analytical skills, with ability to identify and assess problems and help develop solutions
Proactive and results oriented within a dynamic environment
Ability to work both collaboratively within teams and independently to achieve goals
The approximate pay range for this position is $65,000- $ 75,000 base. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
