Agency for Assistance and Development of Afghanistan (AADA) is an Afghan non-profit non-governmental organization working for the development of Afghanistan mainly through (1) provision of quality health services; (2) community development; (3) training and capacity building at professional and community levels; and (4) research in topics of public health and social sciences besides various projects in different parts of Afghanistan.
Job Description:
Conducting regular supervisory visits (at least bi-weekly) to all five BHCs and the MHT.
Monitoring the quality of service delivery, staff performance, and the availability of essential medicines, medical supplies, and nutrition commodities.
Using standard supervision checklists (HMIS, CBHC, Nutrition, Pharmacy) to assess facility performance and provide constructive feedback.
Ensuring adherence to BPHS/EPHS standards and DAWAM-specific guidelines and protocols.
Providing on-the-job coaching and technical support to facility staff, particularly in nutrition (CMAM), child health (IMCI), and reproductive health services.
Supporting the correct use of anthropometric and medical tools such as SALTAR, SALCICA, CK scales, and measuring boards.
Identifying capacity gaps among health staff and recommending refresher training needs to the Senior Project Officer.
Ensuring accurate and timely submission of all reports, including HMIS, OPD-MAM/SAM, pharmacy, and nutrition data, from each BHC and the MHT.
Collecting the HMIS reports monthly from all assigned health facilities and submitting them to the Senior Project Officer.
Reviewing and verifying documentation such as registration books, stock cards, and patient registers for data accuracy and completeness.
Monitoring stock levels and coordinating with logistics teams for timely resupply of essential items.
Ensuring all BHCs and the MHT are equipped with necessary tools, reporting formats, and IEC materials.
Coordinating regularly with community structures including Shura-e-Sehie, CHWs, community elders, and local authorities.
Supporting community outreach and health education activities, particularly in remote or underserved areas.
Gathering and reporting feedback from communities and helping to address any challenges in service delivery.
Ensuring full compliance of all health workers with organizational policies including the Code of Conduct, Child Protection, Gender, and Security guidelines.
Participating in internal and external coordination, planning, and review meetings at the project or provincial level.
Promptly reporting any emergencies, critical issues, or field challenges to the Senior Project Officer for timely action.
Performing any other tasks assigned by the Senior Project Officer or project management team.
Job Requirements:
Must be a Medical Doctor (MD) with a valid registration certificate.
Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in BPHS/EPHS projects or other community health programs.
Strong knowledge of the Afghan health system, especially primary healthcare and mobile health models.
Proficiency in English and local languages (Dari and Pashto) is required.
Good command of computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with data tools such as DHIS2 or Kobo is highly preferred.
Strong communication, supervision, and report-writing skills.
