As a Technical Artist, you will play a vital role in bridging the gap between art and technology. You will work closely with our development team, artists, and designers to create visually stunning and technically optimised AR experiences. Your expertise in both art and technology will be essential in solving complex technical challenges, optimising performance, and ensuring the visual quality of our product.

Collaborate with artists, designers, and developers to define and implement the artistic vision of our AR product.

Develop and maintain efficient and optimised pipelines for asset creation, integration, and rendering in AR environments.

Create and implement shaders, materials, lighting, and post-processing effects to achieve high-quality visuals in real-time AR experiences.

Optimise asset and scene performance for different platforms, considering factors such as polygon count, texture sizes, and rendering techniques.

Work closely with the development team to identify and address technical constraints and limitations related to real-time rendering, AR tracking, and device performance.

Ensure that art assets and animations are properly integrated into the AR application, maintaining their visual fidelity and functionality.

Collaborate with the UI/UX team to integrate AR elements seamlessly into the user interface and overall user experience.

Conduct research and stay up-to-date with the latest trends, techniques, and tools in AR, real-time rendering, and related technologies.

Troubleshoot and debug technical issues related to art assets, rendering, and performance optimisation.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and establish best practices and workflows for art asset creation, optimisation, and integration.

Requirements:

Proficiency in utilising Unreal Engine 5 and Maya

Strong command over scripting using Python and expertise in Maya Python API

Experience in creating and implementing shaders

Comprehensive understanding of the workflows and procedures in art and animation pipelines

Previous exposure to game physics and dynamic animation systems

Demonstrated track record of contributing to the release of a AAA title in a Technical Artist role

Proficiency in C++ would be highly advantageous

Knowledge and familiarity with character rigging and related rigging and animation tools is an added advantage
