Master Pay Scale Point 9 ($25,115 per month) to Master Pay Scale Point 12 ($29,995 per month)
Entry Requirements: Candidates should have (a) (i) a Certificate in Air-conditioning/Building Services/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a Hong Kong polytechnic university/polytechnic, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or a technical institute/technical college, or equivalent; or (ii) successfully completed a recognised Technician Apprenticeship in air-conditioning/building services/electrical/mechanical engineering; or (iii) successfully completed a recognised Craft Apprenticeship with two years’ experience as a skilled worker in air-conditioning/building services/electrical/ mechanical engineering; or (iv) five years’ experience as a skilled worker in air-conditioning/building services/electrical/mechanical engineering; and (b) attained a level of proficiency in Chinese and English languages equivalent to Secondary 3 standard; and (c) a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test. (Preference may be given to candidates who have relevant experience in the Building Services Engineering field and experience in supervising staff or performing specialised technical duties.)
Note: All applicants for civil service jobs will be assessed on their knowledge of the Basic Law and the National Security Law. A pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test is an entry requirement for all civil service jobs. Only those candidates who have passed the Basic Law and National Security Law Test will be considered for appointment. For candidates who have not taken the Basic Law and National Security Law Test or have not attained a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test at the time of application, they may still apply for the job and arrangements will be made for them to take the relevant Basic Law and National Security Law Test during the recruitment process.
Duties: (i) A Works Supervisor II (Building Services) is mainly deployed on (a) supervising and training junior staff; (b) planning programmes for maintenance work and assisting in preparing estimates of cost of repair; (c) requisitioning and controlling stores; and (d) supervising contract works (including making and recording site measurements and maintaining site records), installation, operation, repair, maintenance and management/control of equipment and/or systems (of buildings) or plants.
(ii) Successful candidates may be posted to other departments and may be required to: (a) perform emergency/stand-by/on-call duties; (b) work irregular hours; (c) work in remote areas/harsh conditions; (d) drive a departmental vehicle under the self-drive scheme; (e) wear uniform/protective clothing; (f) carry pager/mobile phone.
Terms of Appointment: A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
General Notes: (A) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

In these circumstances, only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend recruitment examination and/or interview.
(H) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible.
