Mengdi Tao has a decade of experience advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through strategic cross-sector collaboration. Most recently, she served as the consultant for the Asian Development Bank's Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Gender Climate Program.

Previously, Mengdi served as the General Manager of the Women Empowerment Council, where she championed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in businesses across China by leading civic initiatives and localizing impactful programs such as Girls in STEMM and DEI workshops. As Program Director at the Laoniu Brother & Sister Foundation, she directed projects aimed at enhancing childhood education and promoting family philanthropy globally. Earlier in her career, Mengdi managed the leadership training program of the World Academy for the Future of Women across Nepal, Bangladesh, India, and Kenya, and spearheaded the U.S. State Department-funded initiative Give Voice to Women Through the Arts, fostering cultural exchange between China and the United States.

In 2022, Mengdi was selected as an Asia Foundation Development Fellow, recognizing her leadership and commitment to social development in Asia. She is an executive committee member of the Young Professional Forum of the British Chamber, Global Women Connect, and VIVA Professional Women’s Network. Mengdi holds a master’s degree in diplomacy from Renmin University of China and a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Journalism from Zhengzhou University.
